2010 Chevrolet Camaro Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the ignition coil for Bank 2 on 2010 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: One can start by turning off the ignition then removing the Intake Manifold cover without detaching fuel pipes or hoses. The procedure for changing the Ignition Coil of cylinder 2 includes lifting and positioning the Intake Manifold after detaching the air cleaner duct from the Throttle Body and the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover while keeping the top and bottom intake manifolds together. Additional clearance for Ignition Coil removal becomes possible after removing the Intake Manifold bolts along with the Intake Manifold brace bolts (1 and 2) and disconnecting the brace before repositioning the upper Intake Manifold with the lower Intake Manifold. Separate the Ignition Coil electrical connections then remove the bolts holding the coils in place to extract the ignition coils. To install, slide the ignition coils into position afterward securing the Ignition Coil bolts to 10 nm (89 lb in) torque while reconnecting the Ignition Coil connectors and reinstalling the upper Intake Manifold if needed before placing on the Intake Manifold cover.
