    Q:
How to replace the Knock Sensor for Bank 1 on Buick Terraza? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before starting a new sensor replacement for Bank 1, you need to elevate and secure the vehicle. The repair starts with disconnecting the radiator air baffle and removing the engine harness electrical connector from the knock sensor. First remove the bank 1 knock sensor then loosen its mounting. Use the factory coating on the new bank 1 knock sensor without applying thread sealant since it provides proper functioning without additional materials. Sealant applied in excess will restrict the sensor from detecting detonation incidents. Secure the sensor at 25 N.m (18 lb ft) before you reconnect the engine harness electrical connector to the knock sensor. Reinstall the radiator air baffle then proceed with lowering the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the knock sensor for Bank 2 on Buick Rendezvous? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin sensor replacement for Bank 2 by raising and supporting the vehicle first. Disconnect and remove the left knock sensor from its harness electrical connector. Apply thread sealant to the sensor threads because factory coats protect the sensor but additional sealant can interfere with the sensor's detonation detection. Use 25 N.m (18 lb ft) torque when fastening the knock sensor into position. Dual hand steps allow technicians to lower the vehicle. They should reconnect the engine harness electrical connector to the left knock sensor before completing the procedure.
