2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace Knock Sensor 2 on 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?
A: The first procedure for replacing Knock Sensor 2 includes the appropriate support and lifting of the vehicle. The first step is to remove and set aside the oil pan skid plate when it exists along with its bolt components. Begin by pulling the engine wiring harness electrical connector off the knock sensor. After this disconnect the knock sensor sleeve from its position and direct it down away from the sensor. Lift and support the vehicle properly before you uninstall the sensor bolt and knock sensor piece. You should place the new knock sensor on the engine block before installing its bolt at 25 Nm (18 lb ft). Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the knock sensor and move the knock sensor sleeve upward to encase the sensor. Reposition the oil pan skid plate and apply 28 Nm (21 lb ft) torques to the bolts. Finally, lower the vehicle.
