2007 Chevrolet Equinox Knock Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the knock sensor on Bank 1 on 2007 Chevrolet Equinox?
A: The initial step in changing Bank 1's knock sensor requires vehicle elevation and support. Before changing the knock sensor, remove the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the knock sensor for both FWD and all wheel drive systems. After loosing the bolt holding the knock sensor in place, extract the sensor. The sensor threads receive factory coating and adding threadlocker during installation will degrade the sensor's detonation detection ability. Secure the knock sensor onto the engine with a bolt torque of 25 N.m (18 lb ft). The installation process requires AWD users to connect their engine wiring harness electrical connector to the knock sensor and FWD users to complete the same connection. Finally, lower the vehicle.
