Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the knock sensor before you unfasten the knock sensor bolt to remove the sensor. New knock sensors should receive no threadlocker treatment on their threads since factory coatings protect their functionality to detect detonation. Place and tighten the sensor bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft) on the engine position. Lower the vehicle after reattaching the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the knock sensor.
