How to replace Knock Sensor 1 on Buick Lucerne?

To replace Knock Sensor 1, you need to drain the cooling system to protect from being burned by hot engine coolant, which could still be in the engine water jacket. Using an engine harness electrical connector, disconnect its wire from the knock sensor and carefully remove the sensor itself. During the installation of the new knock sensor do not apply thread sealant to the threads of the sensor as it has a factory coated thread and extra sealant may disable the ability to detect detonation; tighten the sensor to 18 N.m (13 lb ft). Ensure that all connections are secure and there are no leaks in the system. Following installation, reconnect engine harness electrical connector to knock sensor and fill up cooling system.
