  Q: How to replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) on Buick Lucerne?

  A: The negatives Battery Cable requires removal as the first step to replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM). You should begin by taking off the intake manifold cover. To begin replacement of the icm wiring harness electrical connector you must first loosen the bolt securing the connector before disconnecting the connector from the icm. Next disconnect rear Spark Plug Wires from Ignition Coils before removing front Spark Plug Wires. Once the ignition coils are freed from their bolts you must extract them from the icm before you can extract the icm from its bracket. For installation position the icm on its bracket then install the ignition coils onto the icm while making sure all Ignition Coil bolts achieve a torque of 4.5 n.m (40 lb in). First connect rear plug wires to coils while installing both icm wiring harness connectors and securing their bolt. Install the intake manifold cover after reconnection of the negative Battery Cable.
