How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) on Buick Lucerne?

To change the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) you need to obtain the required tools; these are the Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194). Start with an intake manifold cover removal and separating the engine harness electrical connector from the ho2s pigtail. Next you will take the ho2s pigtail clip off the sight shield bracket, lift and position the vehicle. It is recommended to take out the ho2s if engine temperature is high because of difficulty in removing it. Temperature should not be above 48°c (120°F). Remove the ho2s from the Exhaust Manifold using the Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194). When installing, a special anti-seize compound gm p/n12377953 or the like must be applied on the threads of the old sensor in case it has to be reinstalled. Install the ho2s with the help of the Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194), and tighten it to 42 n.m (31 lb ft). Lastly, lower the vehicle, then reconnect the engine harness electrical connector to the ho2s pigtail and install the ho2s pigtail clip to the sight shield bracket re-install the intake manifold cover.
