How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) on 2008 Buick Lucerne?

To change heated Oxygen Sensor ho2s one should first prepare some tools such as Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194). Start by taking out the intake manifold cover. Remove the electric connector of the engine harness from the ho2s pigtail and remove the ho2s pigtail clip from the sight shield bracket. It's necessary to remove the ho2s if the temperature of the engine exceeds 48°c (120°F) to prevent the fact that it may be challenging. Use the Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194) to unclasp the ho2s from the Exhaust Manifold. If replacing with an old sensor, make sure to cover the threads with anti-seize compound gm p/n 12377953 or its equivalent while installation. Apply the ho2s with the Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194) and tighten it to 42 n.m (31 lb ft). Reconnect the engine harness electrical connector to the ho2s pigtail and install the ho2s pigtail clip to the sight shield bracket, and doing a final reinstallation of intake manifold cover.
