2009 Buick Lucerne Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Sensor 2 on 2009 Buick Lucerne?
A: The replacement of heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) sensor 2 requires you to lift and support the vehicle. The first step is to remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer while also disconnecting the ho2s electrical connector. First disconnect the ho2s electrical connector clip attached to the heat shield before extracting the ho2s from the Catalytic Converter. The threads of a sensor being reused should receive an application of anti-seize compound p/n 12377953 because this compound contains liquid graphite and glass beads to make removal easier. Fasten the ho2s onto the Catalytic Converter assembly by torquing it to 42 nm (31 lb ft). Begin by reconnecting the ho2s electrical connection followed by cpa retainer attachment then clip the ho2s electrical connection to the heat shield after lowering the vehicle.
