The factory-precoated threads on the Knock Sensor require no application of thread sealant. Sealing the sensor after installation could reduce its ability to detect ignition detonations. Position the Knock Sensor at 25 nm (18 lb ft) torque before connecting the electrics for the Knock Sensor and mounting the Catalytic Converter then lower the automobile.
