Starting the sensor replacement process requires vehicle elevation and proper support. Next, remove the Catalytic Converter. Unplug the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connection before removing the ckp sensor stud and sensor from the vehicle. Before installing the ckp sensor apply clean engine oil to its o-ring before putting it in place. Apply 10 nm (89 lb in) torque to secure the installed ckp sensor stud. Reinstall the Catalytic Converter while you reconnect the ckp sensor electrical connector. Finally, lower the vehicle.
