How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on Buick Lucerne? Posted by Customer
    A:
Crankshaft balancer removal is the first step before installing a new Crankshaft Position Sensor. First disconnect the engine harness electrical connector which supplies power to the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor before removing the CKP sensor shield. First remove the two sensor studs before removing the Crankshaft Position sensor. The first step for installation involves putting the CKP sensor into position followed by stud tightening to 20 N.m (15 lb ft) torque and a 40-degree nut rotation using the J 45059 Angle Meter (J 45059). Replace the CKP sensor shield then reconnect the engine harness electrical connector back to the CKP sensor. Finally, reinstall the crankshaft balancer.
