How to replace the Knock Sensor for Bank 1 on 2009 Chevrolet Impala?

Before beginning with knock sensor replacement on Bank 1 start by properly supporting and raising the vehicle. Start by disconnecting the left knock sensor electrical connector before easing out and removing the knock sensor. The new knock sensor requires no thread sealant during installation because sensor threads receive factory coating which could reduce detonation detection ability. Complete installation of the knock sensor by applying 25 Nm (18 lb ft) of torque then reinsert the knock sensor electrical connector on the left side before lowering the vehicle.
