How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 on 2009 Chevrolet Impala?

The first step to replace heated Oxygen Sensor 2 begins with vehicle elevation followed by proper suspension. Disengage the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector through the removal of its connector position assurance (CPA) retainer. Remove the ho2s electrical connector clip from the heat shield then extract the ho2s through the Catalytic Converter opening. The threads of the old sensor require anti-seize compound p/n 12377953 when reinstalling since this compound works by including liquid graphite and glass beads for easier removal. Screw the ho2s into the Catalytic Converter position and torque it to 42 nm (31 lb ft). Complete the cable connection of the ho2s electrical connector and place the cpa retainer in position then attach the ho2s electrical connector clip to the heat shield before lowering the vehicle.
