  • Q: How to replace the Knock Sensor (KS) on 2004 Chevrolet Malibu?
    A: When replacing the Knock Sensor (KS) start by saving your radio presets and switching off the ignition and disconnecting the negative battery terminal. Start by separating the ks harness connector from the ks using a flat-bladed screwdriver to push upward before removing the ks completely. To install a new ks pigtail connector retaining clip start by removing it from the Intake Manifold by using a push pin removal tool. Placing the ks pigtail connector with its retaining clip inside the Intake Manifold hole or starting placement of the ks from above the clip can be followed by connecting the ks harness and verifying the connection by pulling back on the harness. The ks must have its large metal contact oriented toward the engine block to prevent a dtc p0325 code. Attach the ks at position 9 o'clock and fasten it with the attachment bolt using torque of 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Finish the repair by resetting the clock and radio stations along with tightening the battery terminal bolts to 17 n.m of torque and reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
