How to replace the Knock Sensor (KS) on 2009 GMC Canyon?

Starting the knock sensor (KS) replacement requires lifting the vehicle while still providing sufficient clearance to access through the wheelhouse. Unlock the left wheelhouse liner before you disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector that connects to the KS. After disconnection of the KS retaining bolt remove the KS from the engine block. When reinstalling the KS onto the engine block keep the electrical terminals at the rear position while tightening the bolt to 25 Nm (18 lb ft). Reattach the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the KS before reinstalling the left wheelhouse liner before you drive down again.
