2006 Chevrolet Impala Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Knock Sensor (KS) on 2006 Chevrolet Impala?
A: You should drain your cooling system before starting replacement work on the Knock Sensor (KS). Start by disconnecting the electrical connector of the left knock sensor then remove the bolt followed by the sensor itself. Proceed by disconnecting the electrical connector from the right knock sensor before removing its bolt and finally taking off the knock sensor itself. To install the right shock sensor start by placing it on the engine block and securing the right shock sensor bolt at 20 N.m (15 lb ft) torque before joining the right shock sensor electrical connector. Position the left knock sensor on the engine block before tightening the bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft) and then joining the left knock sensor electrical connector. Finally, fill the cooling system.
