How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2006 Chevrolet Impala?

Beginning the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor replacement process requires removal of the right Exhaust Manifold. Separate the ckp sensor electrical connector followed by the bolt removal of the ckp sensor and complete cleaning of the sensor area to avoid engine debris intrusion. Start by removing the ckp sensor from its position. Reinstall the ckp sensor into its proper location before fastening the ckp sensor bolt at 25 n.m torque (18 lb ft of torque). First reconnect the ckp sensor electrical connector then install the right Exhaust Manifold back into position. The ckp system variation learn procedure should be the last step in this process.
