Replacements of the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor begin by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by vehicle elevation and support. Start by taking off the right splash shield cover and the crankshaft balancer before disconnecting the ckp sensor electrical connector. Start by removing the ckp sensor shield before using a wrench to uninstall the ckp sensor bolts. Once free, extract the ckp sensor from the block. When installing the ckp sensor position it at the block location before you tighten its bolts at 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Install the ckp sensor shield before reconnecting the electrical connector for the ckp sensor. Reinstall the crankshaft balancer before you replace the right splash shield cover and lower the vehicle to reconnect the negative Battery Cable. Complete the crankshaft variation learn procedure.
