How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2004 Chevrolet Impala?

Begin sensor replacement work by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by vehicle suspension and support. To replace the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor start by removing the right splash shield cover and the crankshaft balancer and disconnect the ckp sensor electrical connector. Begin by taking away the ckp sensor shield which leads to unscrewing the sensor bolts before finally completing sensor removal. Place the ckp sensor against the block after following service precautions for fastener notice and bolt it down using 30 n.m (22 lb ft) torque. Attach the ckp sensor shield following installation of the ckp sensor electrical connector. Install the crankshaft balancer along with the right splash shield cover. Put the vehicle into a lower position and restore the negative Battery Cable. Conduct the crankshaft variation learn procedure as the last step.
