The replacement of Bank 2's ignition coil starts with removing the fuel injector sight shield followed by the upper tiller panel as needed for direct access to each coil. Remove the ignition coil cover from the cam cover and disconnect the wiring harness of the coil under repair by removing its retaining bolt and then gently extracting the entire coil assembly. Begin by disconnecting the main coil wiring harness at the cam cover and then remove each coil assembly bolt and stud before extracting the ignition coil assembly. When installing the ignition coil assembly make sure the spark plug seals are correctly positioned before proceeding with installation which requires following step one by step two and then using a torque wrench to tighten ignition coil assembly retaining bolts and studs to 10 Nm (89 lb in). When installing the ignition coil connect the main coil wiring harness to the cam cover space ensuring proper spark plug seal alignment before installing the retaining bolt and tightening it to 10 Nm (89 lb in). Following these steps complete the installation by inserting the ignition coil electrical connector then install the ignition coil cover onto the cam cover before reinstalling the upper filler panel and placing the fuel injector sight shield.

Start by lifting the cam cover's Ignition Coil cover and fuel injector sight shield straight up when they are present to access bank 1's Ignition Coil replacement. You need to examine individual coils by disconnecting the secondary air injection (AIR) electrical connector of the vent solenoid and disconnecting the air check valve. The coil replacement requires disconnecting the wiring harness electrical connector from the targeted coil followed by removal of the retaining bolt before trying to gently remove the Ignition Coil. To perform all coil replacements start by disconnecting the main coil wiring harness at the cam cover followed by removing the coil assembly retaining bolts and studs before removing the Ignition Coil assembly. After coil positioning install the retaining bolts and studs to 10 n.m (89 lb in) while making sure spark plug seals maintain correct placement. The primary coil wiring harness should connect to the cam cover before installing the Ignition Coil into place with spark plug seals in position while tightening the Ignition Coil retaining bolt to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reconnect both the Ignition Coil electrical connector and the air vent solenoid electrical connector if removed and restore the air check valve assembly if it was previously uninstalled. As the last step reinstall both the Ignition Coil cover to the cam cover when it is equipped and the fuel injector sight shield.

A professional must begin the Bank 2 Ignition Coil(S) replacement by taking off the fuel injector sight shield. Start by disconnecting the ignition coil wiring harness electrical connector from the replacement coil followed by removal of the ignition coil retaining bolt and the ignition coil itself. Attach the new ignition coil after making sure the spark plug seal sits correctly in its position. Secure the ignition coil with the retaining bolt that needs a torque of 10 N.m (89 lb in) following the installation sequence before reconnecting the ignition coil electrical connector. Reinstall the fuel injector sight shield afterifu.

Remove the ignition coil retaining bolt and carefully take out the ignition coil assembly.

Ensure the spark plug seals are in position.

If necessary, disconnect the secondary air injector (AIR) vent solenoid electrical connector and remove the AIR check valve.

Reposition the upper intake manifold with the lower intake manifold to gain sufficient clearance for ignition coil removal.

Remove the intake manifold brace bolts (1 and 2) and the brace, then reposition the upper intake manifold with the lower intake manifold to gain sufficient clearance for ignition coil removal.

First, remove the fuel injector sight shield.

Remove the intake manifold bolts without separating the upper and lower intake manifold.

Secure it with the retaining bolt, which should be tightened to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
