How to service the throttle body on Cadillac SRX?

Starting with the service of the Throttle Body, the first thing to do is to remove the air cleaner intake duct. Open throttle valve as far as it can go to check for deposits on the bore of Throttle Body, throttle valve plate. Do not immerse the Throttle Body assembly in a cleaner or use a strong solvent because it contains sensitive parts like the throttle position (TP) sensor, idle air control (IAC) valve, and sealed throttle shaft bearings that can be damaged with cleaners or solvents. In addition, do not use a wire brush or a scraper because they can damage the Throttle Body components and do not use cleaners containing methyl ethyl ketone, which may damage it also. Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate should be cleaned with a clean shop towel and top engine cleaner (GM P/N 1052626) or an equivalent product while using a parts cleaning brush if needed in order to remove heavy depositors. Last, replace the air cleaner duct.
