  • Q: How to service and repair the Throttle Position Sensor on 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier?
A: The first step for maintenance and repairs of the Throttle Position Sensor involves removing the air cleaner outlet resonator. Disconnect the TP sensor harness connector then unscrew the throttle TP sensor screw. After disconnecting the TP sensor harness connector you should remove the TP sensor with its seal. Start by placing the throttle in its closed position before you install the TP sensor together with its seal while finishing with the TP sensor screw. When you replace the TP sensor you must use a new sensor screw which needs tightening to 2 N.m (18 lb in force). Reconnect the TP sensor harness connector then reinstall both the air cleaner outlet resonator.
