2005 Chevrolet Cavalier Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier?
A: The vehicle requires a two-step process for replacing the Throttle Position (TP) Sensor which starts with the removal of the air cleaner outlet resonator and secondly requires disconnecting the throttle position (TP) sensor harness connector. You should unscrew the throttle TP sensor screw and pull out the TP sensor together with its seal. Instillation requires that you position the throttle in its closed state before inserting the new TP sensor along with its seal and eventually tightening the TP sensor screw. The installation requires a fresh TP sensor screw and its tightening to 2 N.m (18 lb in torque). Reconnect the TP sensor harness connector after you put back the air cleaner outlet resonator.
