How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on the Hydra-Matic(R) 4T40-E Automatic Transmission on 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier?

To install a new Vehicle Speed Sensor on your 4t40-e hydra-matic(R) automatic transmission begin by disconnecting the vehicle from power and supporting it properly. Remove the electrical plug and take out the retaining bolt from the Vehicle Speed Sensor. Pull the sensor directly away from the case to maintain damage protection. The new speed sensor must first be wiped clean with a dry cloth before fastening the retaining stud to 97 inch lbs during installation. Turn on power to the sensor by joining it back to its electrical connection. Then lower your vehicle and reconnect the power cable at the battery.
