The heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S 2) replacement requires first turning off the ignition system. Start by disconnecting the ho2s 2 connector from the engine compartment before lifting the vehicle. When removing the ho2s 2 sensor you need to exercise caution to protect the Exhaust Manifold/pipe threading from damage. Special anti-seize compound needs to be applied to the threads during the installation of a new or service sensor. The compound offers a mixture of liquid graphite joined with glass beads to make it easy to remove during future maintenance. After lowering the vehicle connect the ho2s 2 connector back into its mount before tightening the ho2s 2 to 41 n.m (30 lb ft).
