    Q:
How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) for Bank 1 on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) for bank 1, start with the removal of the Exhaust Manifold heat shield. Disconnect the Oxygen Sensor harness connector and then remove the Oxygen Sensor ensuring not to damage permanently attached pigtail and connector of the sensor, or else this could impact the sensor's function. Do not use too much force to avoid harming the threads in the Exhaust Manifold/pipe; make sure that the in-line connector and louvered end are not greasy, dirty, or contaminated. It is recommendable to carry out this procedure if the engine temperature is high (above 48°C (120 °F)) for easy removal. When installing, you may need to apply a special anti-seize compound (liquid graphite, +glass beads) to the threads of the Oxygen Sensor if so desired, as this will help with future removals. Install the Oxygen Sensor and tighten it to 30 n.m (22 lb ft), reconnect the Oxygen Sensor harness connector and reinstall the Exhaust Manifold heat shield.
