  • Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor 1 on 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt?
A: Before replacing heated Oxygen Sensor 1 you need the Oxygen Sensor wrench tool j 39194-c. Start by taking out the Exhaust Manifold heat shield followed by disconnecting the Oxygen Sensor harness connector. Use the designated Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194-C) to remove the sensor with caution since the permanently fixed pigtail and connector should be untouched during the process while avoiding force that may damage Exhaust Manifold or pipe threads. Cautiously handle the Oxygen Sensor at times when engine temperature falls beneath 48°c (120°F). Maintaining the in-line connector and louvered end free from dirt and grease and contaminants is essential together with gentle handling of the sensor. To install the sensor use saturn p/n 21485279 anti-seize compound on its threads before screwing it in until becoming tight at 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Reconnect the Oxygen Sensor harness connector after reinstalling the Exhaust Manifold heat shield.
