2004 Chevrolet Classic Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the hazard warning switch on 2004 Chevrolet Classic?
A: Before swapping the hazard warning switch one should disable the SIR system operation. First remove the instrument panel (I/P) cluster trim plate from the I/P carrier then disconnect the dimmer switch electrical connector if required. The hazard warning switch electrical connector requires removal before using a flat-bladed tool to free the retaining tabs connecting the switch. Use a flat tool to press the hazard warning switch out from the back of the instrument panel (I/P) cluster trim plate. Sitting the hazard warning switch in alignment with the trim plate opening then pressing it inside until it reaches complete seat position sets it for installation. Complete the electrical connection process between the hazard warning switch and the dimmer switch electrical connector when necessary. Reinstall the I/P cluster trim plate to the I/P carrier after enabling the SIR system.
