2005 Chevrolet Classic Hazard Warning Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the hazard warning switch on 2005 Chevrolet Classic?
A: The SIR system requires disabling before starting the replacement process for the hazard warning switch. The I/P cluster trim plate must be removed from the I/P carrier to disconnect either the dimmer switch electrical connector or not. Users should begin by disconnecting the hazard warning switch electrical connector before using a small flat-bladed tool to free its retaining tabs. Start by pushing on the hazard warning switch at its back location through the I/P cluster trim plate until the switch frees from its position. The new hazard warning switch installation requires users to align it with the I/P cluster trim plate opening before pushing it inward to achieve complete seating. The electrical connections should be reattached to the hazard warning switch and to the dimmer switch electrical connector if necessary. After enabling the SIR system replace the I/P cluster trim plate back onto the I/P carrier.
