2004 Chevrolet Corvette Door Handle Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front door interior door handle on 2004 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The front door interior handle replacement process begins by detaching the bezel from the door handle before removing the door trim panel together with the water deflector. The screw behind the inside handle manual locking lever serves to fix the handle to the door segment. Use your fingers to squeeze the handle rear mounting tabs until the rear part unclips from the door surface and push the handle downward through its forward mounting slots. Detach the lock rods from the anti-rattle retainer by fully opening the handle while removing them. To mount the handle push it open to maximum extent before installing the upper and lower lock rods underneath it. Place the handle front section into the locking points on the door before setting the back portion of the handle to snap into place. The handle receives a screw which requires a tightness setting of 5 N.m (44 lb in). To proceed attach the lock rods to the anti-rattle retainer while positioning them at the black mark on the rod anti-rattle sleeve before placing back the water deflector and door trim panel and inside handle bezel which should be fitted around the handle before pushing firmly to engage the bezel locking tabs to the door.
