2003 Chevrolet Corvette Door Handle Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the front interior door handle on 2003 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Replacing the front door interior handle requires first removing the bezel from the door handle after which you should remove the door trim panel and the water deflector. The screw behind the manual locking lever of the inside handle serves to connect the handle to the door so it needs removal. Press the rear mounting tabs on the handle to separate it from the door before drawing the handle toward the front door slot. Begin by opening the handle to its fullest position then pull off the lock rods from the anti-rattle retainer. Start the installation by enlarging the handle until it reaches maximum position before connecting the upper and lower lock rods. The mounting slots in the door should receive the forward handle end which then triggers the rear handle piece into engagement with the door. Fasten the handle with the screw and tighten it to 5 N.m (44 lb in). Insert the lock rods into the anti-rattle retainer at the black mark visible on rod anti-rattle sleeves before replacing the door trim panel, water deflector and then place the inside handle bezel around the interior handle before pushing it firmly to activate the bezel locking tabs on the door.
