2002 Chevrolet Corvette Door Handle Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front interior door handle on 2002 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The front door interior handle replacement procedure starts with bezel dismantling of the door handle and continued removal of the door trim panel and water deflector. Start by removing the screw which sits behind the locking lever of the inside handle for attaching it to the door. Press the back mounting tabs on the handle to free the handle's rear from the door while moving the handle towards the rear opening of the front door slot. Detach the handle lock rods from the anti-rattle retainer by removing them first and then opening the handle to its maximum extent. To install the handle position it in full extension while connecting the upper lock rod then the lower lock rod. Secure the mounting slots in the door by applying pressure to snap the rear of the handle into place. Close the handle to 5 N.m (44 lb in) by installing the screw. Insert the lock rods to their corresponding slots in the anti-rattle retainer which are located at the black mark on the sleeve before replacing the water deflector along with door trim panel and inside handle bezel by placing the bezel over the door handle until the locking tabs click into position.
