2001 Chevrolet Corvette Door Handle Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front interior door handle on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Starting the replacement requires that you detach the bezel of the door handle, the door trim panel alongside the water deflector. The handle needs to be unfastened from the door by removing a screw which can be found behind the manual locking lever of the inside handle. Utilize fingers to squeeze the rear mounting tabs which allows release of the handle area from the door until you can slide the complete handle towards the door forward slot. After removing the lock rods from the anti-rattle retainer users must open the handle fully to separate it from the lock rods. You should start the installation by opening the handle completely and inserting the upper and lower lock rods onto their positions on the handle. Insert the handle's leading section into the slots located on the door before securing the handle's rear part to the door structure. Fasten the handle with the screw by applying torque up to 5 N.m that equals 44 lb in. Attach the lock rods to the anti-rattle retainer at the marked sleeve opening then reinstall the water deflector and door trim panel along with the inside handle bezel while correctly positioning the bezel with its locking tabs firmly attached to the door.
