How to Replace a Trunk Lid Lift Support on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?

When replacing the rear compartment lid strut begin by opening the lid. Push the screwdriver into the retaining clip above the strut and remove it to take out the strut from its top ball joint. Pull the strut free from the lower ball stud by pressing a small clip open first. Insert the lower end of the strut onto the lower ball stud and fit it onto the upper ball stud before closing the lid.
