How to replace the rear trunk latch on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?

First open the trunk to access its components and take out the rear center carpet panel. Magnify the location of the electrical connector then disconnect it for easy reattachment later. Remove the bolts linking the trunk latch to the latch bracket and take out the entire part. Install the trunk latch by fitting it into the latch bracket first and fasten it with bolts that you need to tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Run the manual release cable through the backfloor storage area at center and plug in the electrical harness before putting back the carpet panel at the center.
