How to Replace a Trunk Lid Lift Support for the Rear Compartment Lift Window on 2000 Chevrolet Corvette?

Start by opening and holding the rear lift window panel to access the window strut. Rotate the retaining clip outward from the lower ball socket on the strut through its opening mechanism with a screwdriver. After disconnecting the lower rear defogger from the strut you can remove it. Open the strut from the lower ball stud and take off the electrical connector on its upper end. Detach the strut from upper ball stud when you push the retainer out and draw the ball socket away from the stud. Mount the defogger lower electrical interface with the strut before placing the rod end down in position between the upper and lower brackets. After attaching the upper end of the defogger system connect and remove the lift window panel support system to complete installation.
