How to Replace a Trunk Lid Lift Support for the Rear Compartment Lift Window on Chevrolet Corvette?

Start repairing the lift window strut by opening and holding the back panel of the rear compartment. Sever the lower rear defogger electrical connection from the strut before using a small flat tool to push out the retaining clip at the lower ball socket and extract the strut from the lower ball stud. First move the retaining clip outward from the upper ball socket and then detach the electrical connector from the top of the strut before taking out the strut. Connect the defogger lower electrical connector to the strut first then install the strut toward the lower bracket rod-down and connect it to the upper bracket. Connect the defogger upper electrical plugs before taking off the lift window panel support and sealing the lift window panel.
