2004 Chevrolet Corvette Fuel Injector Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace a fuel injector on 2004 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: A technician should begin replacement of fuel injectors by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery. You should remove the Fuel Rail assembly through the fuel pressure gauge (J 34730-1A) while observing the Fuel Injector electrical connector pins and nozzles to prevent damage. A spread of the retainer clip allows injector release from the Fuel Rail for removal together with both o-ring seals. The correct new Fuel Injector should be ordered by inspecting the part number identification along with the manufacturing date and week code and production plant number which are marked onto the new injectors. Use clean engine oil to lubricate the new injector o-ring seals before installing them on the injector while using newly provided retainer clips. To complete installation replace the Fuel Rail assembly and tighten its filler cap after you insert the Fuel Injector into its socket with its electrical connector facing outwards. The negative Battery Cable connects while inspecting for leaks occurs by running the ignition switch on for 2 seconds, off for 10 seconds, followed by another on cycle to check fuel system leaks. Program the transmitters when needed as the last step. The fuel line quick connect separator tool set (J 37088-A) should be used according to procedure.
