How to replace the left hood latch on 2004 Chevrolet Corvette?

Start the left hood latch replacement process by deleting the air inlet grille and notating the latch perimeter with a grease pencil. First remove the bolts which attach the latch before unhooking the cable from the push-in retainer keeping the cable sheath connected to the wheelhouse panel. Detach the cable sheath grommet from its position on the latch and the cable end also needs to be detached from the latch. When installing the harness begin with attaching the cable end to the latch catching mechanism while positioning the cable sheath grommet through the slotted opening on the latch. Fasten the hood latch with its corresponding bolts while ensuring the lock stays within the designated boundary. First secure the hood latch bolts at 10 N.m (89 lb in) before you return the push-in retainer to the cable sheath and reinstall the air inlet grille.
