• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2004 Chevrolet Impala?

  A: To remove the Throttle Body assembly, start by removing the fuel injector sight shield and partly pull off the cooling system. Then, pull the air cleaner intake duct, and then iac (idle air control) valve electrical connector, maf (mass air flow) sensor electrical connector, and tp (throttle position) sensor electrical connector. Unbolts the accelerator control cable bracket and unhook the vacuum line from the Throttle Body. Step by step remove the exhaust crossover, after that the support bracket bolts and the bracket itself of the Throttle Body. Remove the Throttle Body nuts and remove the Throttle Body assembly but remember to clean the gasket surfaces of the Intake Manifold and also of the Throttle Body assembly without the use of any solvent. For installation attach a new gasket and attach the Throttle Body assembly by tightening down the nuts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Install and tighten the Throttle Body support bracket and the bolts to the valve of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reconnect the exhaust crossover, reconnect the vacuum line to Throttle Body, reinstall accelerator controls cable bracket. Connect the tp sensor, maf sensor, and iac valve electrical connectors and install the air cleaner intake duct. Finally, fill the system of cooling and reinstall the fuel injector sight shield.
