• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2005 Chevrolet Impala?

  A: To replace the Throttle Body assembly, partial draining of the cooling system, should perform first. Remove the fuel injector sight shield and the air cleaner intake duct. Remove the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector, throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector, and mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector. Secondly, take away the accelerator controls cable bracket and the electrical wiring harness from the accelerator controls cable bracket . Remove the vacuum hoses from the Throttle Body of the car, remove the bolts holding the Throttle Body support bracket and the bracket itself. Lift the nuts off the Throttle Body and remove Throttle Body assembly cleaning the surfaces of gaskets without solvent or sharp tools to prevent damage. If installing, replace a new gasket and install Throttle Body assembly and attach it using Throttle Body nuts torqued to the 10 n.m (89 lb in). Put back the Throttle Body support bracket and its bolts, fastened at 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Replace the vacuum hoses, accelerator controls cable bracket, and the electrical wiring harness back to the accelerator controls bracket. Finally, connect the maf sensor, tp sensor, and iac valve electrical connecters, install the air cleaner intake duct, and fuel injector sight shield, and refill the cooling system.
