First, disable the sir system to replace the inflatable restraint front end sensor. Pry out the connector-position assurance (CPA) from the electrical connector on the front end sensor and then disconnect the front end sensor electrical connector. Next, take off 2 - integral bolts, which hold the front end altimeter to the frame front crossmember and remove the sensor from the vehicle. For installation, mount the new front end sensor and install the 2 integral bolts to the frame front crossmember, tightening them with 8 n.m (71 lb in). Attach the sensor electrical connector the front end sensor and re-fit the cpa onto the sensor electrical connector. Finally, enable the sir system.
