How to replace the front center console on 2004 Chevrolet Malibu?

Replace the front floor console first by removing the right and left console trim panels then locating the front console screw covers which are hidden behind the console. Proceed by removing front console screws then push your seats all the way forward. Start by putting the shifter in drive position then remove the pen tray while maintaining proper distance between the console and shifter handle and bezel. Begin console installation by reattaching the console to its correct position followed by pen tray reinstallation. Reinsert the rear console bolts then use a torque wrench to tighten them to 1 N.m (10 lb in). Add next the front console screws with a torque of 1 N.m (10 lb in). Install the front console screw cover and left console trim panel and right console trim panel after completing the installation.
