Use an otc 204-167 compressor together with otc 204-167-01 adapter shoes or an equivalent spring compressor to compress the coil spring. A suitable jack stand supports the lower Control Arm before you detach the lower Control Arm to knuckle bolt and nut while maintaining proper tools for avoiding coil spring injuries because it maintains high levels of pressure. Begin by lowering the lower Control Arm through use of the jack stand while attached to its coil spring. Once the coil spring is detached from the lower Control Arm remove it. Check coil spring insulators for damage because you'll need to replace them when necessary. The spring should be placed onto the lower Control Arm while you lift the assembly into place with a jack stand. Secure the lower Control Arm to knuckle bolt and nut with 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.) torque and an extra 60-degree turn. Carefully replace the rear splash shield by tightening all fasteners into the inner fender. Return the otc 204-167 or similar spring compressor away while you remove the jack stand and place back the rear tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle.
