A suitable jack stand should support the lower Control Arm before you remove the lower Control Arm to knuckle bolt and nut. The proper tools should be used for supporting the lower Control Arm since the coil spring operates at dangerous pressure levels that could launch it toward unknown directions before full compression. Secure the lower Control Arm onto a jack stand after lowering it with its attached coil spring and remove the coil spring. Check coil spring insulators for damage before performing a replacement. Install the spring onto the lower Control Arm then use the jack stand to lift the lower Control Arm into its proper placement.
