How to replace the Mass Air Flow Sensor on 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

A maf sensor replacement procedure starts by disconnecting the electrical connector of the iat sensor followed by the maf sensor and proceeding to remove the pcv valve tube from the air cleaner intake duct. Open clamp (2) and (6) before removing the air cleaner intake duct with maf sensor from its position on the Throttle Body and air cleaner housing cover. To remove the maf sensor from the air cleaner intake duct loosen its clamp first and disconnect it. The maf sensor requires installation onto the air cleaner intake duct followed by applying 2 n.m (18 lb in) torque to the clamp. Start by tightening the clamps on the air cleaner intake duct combined with the maf sensor to the Throttle Body and air cleaner housing cover until they reach 2 n.m (18 lb in). Secure maf sensor electrical connector first followed by iat sensor electrical connector before you install pcv valve tube to the air cleaner intake duct. When finished check for air intake duct leaks while starting and idling the engine.
