Mass Air Flow Sensor

The first step to replace the air flow meter begins with turning off the ignition then removing the fuel injection sight shield. The air flow meter electrical connector needs removal from where it connects to the air flow meter mounted on the Throttle Body assembly. First remove the air flow meter screws which fasten it to the Throttle Body before taking out the air flow meter itself. Secure the air flow meter to the Throttle Body by using the provided screws according to the service precautions fastener notice with 3 n.m (27 lb in) torque. Reinstall the fuel injection sight shield after completing the reconnection of the air flow meter electrical connector to its proper location on the air flow meter.

Start by turning off ignition power before you remove the fuel injection sight shield during mass air flow (MAF) sensor replacement. Throttle Body assembly retains the maf sensor attachment point so users must unplug the maf sensor electrical connector before proceeding. The maf sensor requires removal from the Throttle Body through removal of its securing screws. When installing the maf sensor position it on the Throttle Body and follow the direction noted under service precautions fastener notice. Screw the maf sensor into position using screws that require 3 n.m (27 lb in) torque. The last step is to install the fuel injection sight shield while the maf sensor electrical connector receiving end gets connected to the maf sensor.

To replace this mass air flow (MAF) sensor, get hold of the fuel injection sight shield and remove it after turning off the ignition. This sensor is mounted on the Throttle Body assembly, so, you have to disconnect the maf sensor electrical connector from the maf sensor. Secondly, unscrew the screws that are holding the maf sensor to the Throttle Body and unwrap the maf sensor. For installation, you could mount the maf sensor back onto the Throttle Body and make sure to adhere to the fastener notice in service precautions. Secure the maf sensor to the screws, screwing them in 3 n.m (27 lb in). Finally reconnect the maf sensor electrical connector to the maf sensor and reinstall fuel injection sight shield in place.

Start your maf sensor replacement process by taking off the fuel injector sight shield. The maf sensor connects to the Throttle Body assembly thus begin by disconnecting the maf sensor electrical connector and unscrewing the maf sensor screws. You must remove the maf sensor following its screw removal. Start installation by repositioning the maf sensor according to the notes in service precautions fastener section. Tighten the maf sensor screws by using torque 3 n.m requiring 27 lb in of force. Reinstall the fuel injector sight shield once you have reconnected the maf sensor electrical connector and reinstalled the maf sensor screws .

The replacement process for mass air flow (MAF) sensor must start by switching off ignition and removing the fuel injector sight shield. First step is to detach the Mass Air Flow Sensor electrical connector which connects to the Mass Air Flow Sensor by removing it from its position on the Mass Air Flow Sensor. First disconnect the Mass Air Flow Sensor electrical connector before you remove the screws that affix the Mass Air Flow Sensor to the Throttle Body to remove the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Install the Mass Air Flow Sensor onto the Throttle Body by inserting the screws and fasten them at 3 n.m (27 lb in). Reinstall the fuel injection sight shield after you reconnect the Mass Air Flow Sensor electrical connector to the Mass Air Flow Sensor.

The Mass Air Flow Sensor replacement process begins with disconnection of the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube from the air cleaner intake duct followed by removal of the electrical connectors of intake air temperature (IAT) sensor and Mass Air Flow Sensor. The air cleaner intake duct along with Mass Air Flow Sensor must be detached from the Throttle Body and air cleaner housing cover after gently loosening the clamps (2,6). You need to loosen the clamp to remove the Mass Air Flow Sensor from the duct of the air cleaner. Install the Mass Air Flow Sensor onto the air cleaner intake duct by securing it with a clamp that should be torqued to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Attach the air cleaner intake duct with its Mass Air Flow Sensor back onto the Throttle Body and air cleaner housing cover while tightening the clamps to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Begin by attaching connectors of Mass Air Flow Sensor and iat sensor and later reinstall pcv valve tube to the air cleaner intake duct. Begin engine start-up then idle while inspecting the duct running from the air intake for leaks.

Position the MAF sensor onto the throttle body and install the screws, tightening them to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

Turn OFF the ignition and remove the fuel injection sight shield.

Remove the screws securing the MAF sensor to the throttle body and take out the MAF sensor.

Turn OFF the ignition and remove the fuel injection sight shield.

Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector from the MAF sensor, which is attached to the throttle body assembly.

By installing the screws and tightening them to 3 Nm (27 lb in).

Carefully position the MAF sensor to the throttle body, ensuring to follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector from the MAF sensor, which is attached to the throttle body assembly.

Reconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector and reinstall the fuel injector sight shield.

Reconnect the electrical connector to the MAF sensor.

Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector.

Reattach the air inlet duct to the MAF sensor and throttle body.

Loosen the clamp and remove the MAF sensor from the air cleaner intake duct.

Begin by installing the MAF sensor and securing it with the MAF sensor screws.

Install the screws to secure the MAF sensor to the throttle body and tighten them to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

Loosen the clamp and remove the MAF sensor from the air cleaner intake duct.

Start and idle the engine, and inspect the air intake duct for leaks.
