2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the rear suspension sway bar link on 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: A vehicle lift must be used to work on the Sway Bar Link in the rear suspension installation. The Sway Bar Link requires removal of its retaining nut from both links and shaft before proceeding to detach the link from the shaft. Removal of the Sway Bar Link should start by taking it out of the vehicle. Place the Sway Bar Link back onto the vehicle before connecting it to the sway bar. Install the Sway Bar Link nut to the Sway Bar Link and the sway bar. Tighten this nut to 52 nm (38 ft. Lbs.). Place the Sway Bar Link at the strut before installing the Sway Bar Link nut to both components and tightening it to 52 nm (38 ft. Lbs.). Finally, lower the vehicle.
